These terms apply whenever you use eLibrary Africa, on the web or through our mobile app. By creating an account, you agree to them.
What eLibrary Africa is
eLibrary Africa is a digital library of textbooks, revision notes and past papers for secondary school students, teachers and publishers, starting with Uganda's S1โS6 UNEB curriculum. Some content is free to browse; the rest requires an active subscription or a school license.
Your account
- You sign in with your phone number and a one-time SMS code โ there's no password to manage or lose.
- You're responsible for keeping access to your phone number, since it's how we verify it's you.
- Provide accurate information when you set up your profile (name, school, class, etc.) โ it's how we show you the right content.
- One account is for one person. Please don't share login access in a way that lets someone else use your subscription.
Subscriptions and payment
- Subscription plans (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Full Term) are one-time purchases for a fixed period โ they do not automatically renew or rebill you. When a plan expires, you keep access to free content, and can purchase a new plan whenever you choose.
- Payments are processed by our payment partner, Flutterwave, via mobile money, card or USSD. We don't see or store your card number or mobile money PIN.
- Promotional voucher codes, where issued, grant free access for a fixed period and can only be redeemed once.
- Prices are shown in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) at checkout. Because payments are typically made via mobile money, they're generally not reversible once completed โ if something's gone wrong with a charge, contact us and we'll look into it.
- School-issued access is licensed to the school, not to an individual student's personal purchase, and is administered by the school's own account.
Acceptable use
To keep the library available and affordable for everyone, please don't:
- Attempt to download, scrape or redistribute the catalog in bulk, including by scripting or automating requests
- Share your account, a school device's access, or a subscription in a way that circumvents individual/institutional licensing
- Copy, resell or redistribute book content outside the platform โ the books remain the property of their respective authors/publishers, and eLibrary Africa licenses access to them, it doesn't grant ownership of the content
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the platform or other users' accounts
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, particularly automated abuse that affects the service for other students.
Content and accuracy
We work to keep the catalog accurate and curriculum-aligned, but eLibrary Africa is a distribution platform, not the publisher of most of its content โ we can't guarantee every note or past paper is error-free, and content should support, not replace, guidance from a student's own teachers.
Availability
We aim to keep the platform available, but like any online service it can experience downtime, maintenance windows, or the occasional bug. We're not liable for temporary unavailability, though we'll work to resolve real issues promptly.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
